Welcoming Galilei

Time goes by, as we all know, and in my case, it seems that time is bringing me new computers every year. Indeed, after adopting Newton in 2011 and Wilde last year, I am glad to announce that I just decided to welcome home Galilei ! Newton and Wilde are so happy to have a little brother. And I already hear them asking me to add a little sister to the family. Well, it is very likely that I will fulfil their wish in the coming months !

Anyway, let’s see how big is my new baby Galilei. It comes with 4 Go of RAM, a hard drive with a capacity of 80 Go, and as for the processor, it’s a Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz × 2. Very welcoming indeed (at least for my standards).
I decided to install Ubuntu again (version : 12.04.2 LTS 64 bits) since my experience with Wilde was successful. Of course, I had to get rid of the awful Unity shell interface once again to come up with the more efficient and user-friendly GNOME (well, to tell you the truth, this is GNOME classic, otherwise all those fucking shells which seem to be designed mainly for tablet computers and smartphones would kill me !).

So I’ve got one PC running on Fedora, and two PCs running on Ubuntu at the moment. Since I did not use Newton for a long time, I think I will get him on track again and upgrade him to the new Fedora release. Oh, and yes, Feynman is still alive and running on Windows 7, but I really only use it to post-process my photos with Lightroom.
